ALL ABOUT US

What We’re All About

The Atlantic Wreck Divers are a Maryland-based scuba diving club formed in 1972.  The club organizes about 25+ dives per year to shipwrecks ranging from mid-Atlantic East Coast ports between Delaware and South Carolina, to the Great Lakes region, and well, well beyond!  The club conducts all official business via email, so we accept members from ANYWHERE!  We do meet locally for drinks and dinner on the second Wednesday of most months at the Rams Head Tavern in Savage MD.

that you're in a healthy ocean."

Home: Membership

Are you ready to get wet? To become a member you must have an Advanced Open Water scuba diving certification or equivalent and you must have made a minimum of 3 ocean wreck dives within the past 2 years before applying for membership.

We have only 3 strict rules associated with our dive sign-ups: 1) We DO NOT allow smoking on our dives; 2) You MUST sign and notarize our liability form to dive with us; and 3) Once you commit to a dive, you ARE financially obligated to the spot unless an acceptable substitute can be found.

As a Atlantic Wreck Divers member you’ll get access to an affordable and very active annual wreck dive charter schedule.  We book dives from early June to early October for most weekends each year.  We charter our boats (6-packs typically) for the entire weekend and simply divide the daily charter rate by the number of divers.  There is no club profit and no club member(s) diving for free embedded in our rates.  So this is the most economical way to conduct mid-Atlantic wreck diving.
